About the author:

Ben Smith is a vocational school principal in South Carolina. Having grown up in Zephyrhills, Florida, he was a high school classmate of Buzzie’s and worked for his dad at Reutimann Chevrolet. He was fortunate enough to have been on Buzzie’s crew and saw Buzzie’s first race. One of most satisfying part of Ben’s life is to have observed and participated with three generations of racing Reutimanns. The tradition continues.

The author wishes to thank all of the people who contributed to this effort. The entire Reutimann family, Uncle Lowell Steve and the many magazine and newspaper writers should be thanked for their input.
